We're spending the afternoon in Owosso working through a round of gutter cleanouts - and this one is a good example of what we run into more often than not. Packed with debris, leaves, and buildup that's been sitting long enough to start breaking down. That kind of blockage doesn't just look bad. It stops water from moving the way it needs to.

When gutters back up, water has nowhere to go. It sits, it overflows, and eventually it finds its way into places you really don't want it - your roofline, your siding, behind your fascia board. Over time, that's how you end up with rot, water intrusion, and foundation issues that cost a lot more to fix than a simple cleanout would have.

The before and after here tells the whole story. One side of the gutter is still packed tight, the other has been cleared out completely. That's what a proper gutter cleaning looks like - not just a quick scoop, but a thorough cleanout that gets everything moving again.

A lot of homeowners put this off because it doesn't feel urgent. The gutters look fine from the ground, and it's easy to forget about them. But by the time you notice overflow or staining on your siding, the problem has usually already been going on for a while. Getting ahead of it is always the better call.

If your gutters haven't been cleaned in a while, now's a good time to get it done. We're in the Owosso area today and taking care of exactly this kind of work.
