Mold and algae don't care how nice your siding is. Given enough time and moisture, those green streaks will show up on just about any home - and once they start, they spread fast. That's exactly what we were dealing with here at the Twin Oaks Mowing and Snowplowing property.
The siding had years of buildup working against it. Green algae had crept across large sections of the exterior, and there were dark streaks forming along the lower courses near the foundation. It wasn't just cosmetic, either - that kind of growth traps moisture against the surface and can cause real damage if it sits long enough.
We went to work with a full house wash, treating the siding and clearing out all of that organic buildup from top to bottom. The difference is hard to miss. The white vinyl went from looking dull and green-tinged to clean and bright again - the way it's supposed to look.
One thing we always make sure of is that the clean holds up, not just looks good in a photo. That means treating the source of the growth, not just rinsing the surface. When algae gets properly treated and removed, it takes a lot longer to come back compared to just pressure washing it off and calling it done.
If your home is starting to show those same green streaks or dark patches, it's worth getting it taken care of before the buildup gets worse. A house wash is one of the simplest ways to protect your siding and keep your home looking sharp.
